Fireplace in Sharon

We were invited to renovate a large existing family room that had unattractive fireplace and low ceilings. Our task was to create a feeling of a taller and more comfortable space and to replace the existing fireplace with a much more attractive contemporary piece.

We opened up the low ceiling creating a tray ceiling concept with indirect lighting around the perimeter. The "tray" was reinforced with LVL beams. As a base for the fireplace design composition we decided to use two visually interlocking L-shaped slabs of different  colors creating a positive tension that visually holds all pieces together.
